The Vineyards

The place where everything is born

The soil

A single land offers multiple varieties

In the sinuous hills of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the heart of Tuscany, lie 107 hectares of vineyards, divided into 9 contiguous but unique areas, which give rise to 6 different grape varieties.

Biodiversity

Quality means
respecting nature

Here at Vallepicciola, biodiversity in the vineyards is the beating heart of our land. It is the secret to maintaining a healthy environment and creating wines of excellence. Every day, with love and respect, we promote ecological balance, carefully preserving the wealth of local flora and fauna and our precious natural habitats through sustainable agricultural practices.

Fontanelle

Le Fontanelle, the first vineyard that has existed in Vallepicciola for over 30 years, has soil predominantly composed of marl. It has an eastern exposure and is completely dedicated to the cultivation of Sangiovese, the grape selected for our elegant Vallepicciola Rosso Cru.

Casanova Calcaia
Casanova Calcaia

Casanova Calcaia is a vineyard characterised by its stone-rich soil. Facing south-west, it is the cradle of the variety par excellence of our territory: Sangiovese.

Poggione Quercegrosse
Poggione Quercegrosse

Poggione Quercegrosse has a clay soil, which is particularly suitable for international varieties. Some of our Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvigon and Merlot grow here. And it is from this vineyard that the precious pure Merlot Quercegrosse originates.

La Cappellina Cantina
La Cappellina Cantina

La Cappellina Cantina is characterised by its medium-textured soil with substantial skeleton. It has a southern exposure and yields the Sangiovese with which we also produce our Chianti Classico Riserva.

Lapina Vallepicciola
Lapina Vallepicciola

From the rocky and calcareous Lapina Vallepicciola vineyard, we select the best grapes for the production of our Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Lapina". Thanks to the perfect combination of altitude, exposure and soil composition, our Sangiovese is able to express itself sublimely.

Casuccio Alto
Casuccio Alto

Casuccio Alto, with its loose, rocky soil, is a vineyard particularly suited to the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Our Chianti Classico Riserva, pure Sangiovese, and Parva Domus, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, are born here.

Casuccio Basso
Casuccio Basso

Casuccio Basso has a loamy soil that allows our Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay to express their full potential. From this vineyard originate two complex and refined purities: Mordese and Cru Vallepicciola Bianco.

Poggino Pievasciata
Poggino Pievasciata

The Poggino Pievasciata vineyard is characterised by loose, tuff-rich soil, ideal for the production of fresh, less structured wines. We grow part of our Sangiovese here.

Boscobruno
Boscobruno

Boscobruno has a medium-textured soil with a significant presence of marl. Facing north-east, it is here that we plant and cultivate Pinot Noir, from which our iconic Boscobruno originates.
